Tulsa Health Department offers free COVID-19 vaccines at the Tulsa State Fair

TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa State Fair begins this week.

While visitors will be ready for rides, food, and attractions, the Tulsa Health Department will also offer free COVID-19 vaccinations.

THD will host walk-in clinics throughout the fair offering both Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines. The clinic will be located in the lower level of the SageNet Center building.

“Individuals can come and get their first dose, their second dose, their third dose or booster dose if they qualify,” said THD Clinical Services Manager Ellen Niemitalo.

Vaccinations will be available weekdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. No insurance or Social Security number are needed, and kids 12 and older are eligible with a parent or guardian present.

The vaccination process should take 30 minutes or less, including paperwork.

For most of the past year, Expo Square was used as a vaccine distribution site. We told you last year there were food vendors and a live stock show but no rides, concerts or craft booths so THD says if you go this year be sure to wear a mask around crowds, especially inside.

Masks are not required at the Tulsa State Fair but fair officials have added more sanitation stations and plan to use electromagnetic sprayers daily.
