A new building is going up in downtown Tulsa

(Tulsa, OK) – The skyline of Tulsa is about to change.  An 18 story tower will be going up along Cheyenne between 2nd and 3rd.

Ground was broken for the tower Friday morning.  Cimarex Energy will be the building’s sole tenant but Dick Dinkins, the company’s vice-president of human resources, tells us they should have neighbors soon.  “The nice thing about the project is that there will also be another building on that same block that includes other businesses, hotel, restaurants and so on.  So it should be a very nice thing for downtown Tulsa. “

This first part of the project is called One Place Tower.  Dinkins says they hope to move in by February of 2013.

Parking is always an issue with any downtown project and Dinkins says this first part of the project includes over 400 parking spaces.

The entire development is being named One Place.  Northwestern Mutual Financial Network says it plans to put its Oklahoma flagship office at the sight.

The next phase of the project is scheduled to start in the third quarter of 2011.  The entire project is across Denver Ave. from the BOK Center.
