Tulsa’s Restaurant Week returns on Friday

TULSA, Okla. — Restaurant Week is just around the corner. It’s the tastiest week of the year in Tulsa.

Fans of Restaurant Week will engage in the fight against childhood hunger by supporting the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. Presented by TulsaPeople, the fourteenth annual Restaurant Week runs from Sept. 4 – 13.

Restaurant Week is a delicious opportunity for Tulsans to experience the area’s best restaurants at a great price, support local businesses as they need it the most, and help feed hungry Oklahoma children by supporting the Food Bank’s Food for Kids programming.

Restaurant Week will begin with a kick-off event at Lambrusco’z on Friday, Sept. 4, from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Ten percent of each menu item will go to the Food Bank.

“Given the current state of social distancing, public gatherings, and events, we didn’t quite know how we could successfully hold Restaurant Week this year,” stated Wendy Voss, community engagement coordinator for the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. “However, several restaurants approached us who felt strongly about supporting the work of the Food Bank during the pandemic. They are the ones who got the ball rolling.”

“As a long-time participant in Restaurant Week, I have realized there has not been a more important time to dine than now for this event,” said Johnna Hayes of 3 Sirens Restaurant Group. “What the Food Bank is able to do for our community on a yearly basis was amplified during the COVID-19 pandemic. The services and meals they provided to so many restaurant and service industry families were astounding and lifesaving, and we want to make sure we continue to give back to them as they have to us.”

The Tulsa area’s 39 participating restaurants will offer special prix fixed menus, a pre-selected list of dishes at a set price, for brunch, lunch, or dinner.

Each meal will include an automatic donation to the Food Bank. Be sure to ask your server for the special Restaurant Week menu.

In addition, for those who would rather eat at home, supporters can choose a to-go family meal which feeds a family of four.

Select restaurants will also offer a specialty cocktail for an additional charge which will donate one dollar to the Food Bank for each cocktail sold.

All Restaurant Week donations will be matched, up to $25,000, by the George Kaiser Family Foundation.
