The 1969 orange Dodge Charger, made famous in the late 1970s television series “The Dukes of Hazzard,” was one of the items damaged at actor John Schneider’s home and studio in Louisiana by Hurricane Ida, WZTV reported.

Schneider, 61, who played Bo Duke in 128 episodes of the show from 1979 to 1985, shared a photo on Facebook of the General Lee, which was damaged by an uprooted tree at his property in Holden, Louisiana, the television station reported.

Holden, located west of Hammond and northwest of New Orleans, was hit hard by Ida, which hit the Louisiana coast as a Category 4 storm. Schneider was in Middle Tennessee when the storm hit, helping people affected by floods last week, WZTV reported.

Schneider and his wife were filling up 18-wheelers with supplies for the victims of the flooding in Humphreys County, where more than 520 homes were damaged or destroyed on Aug. 21, WZTV reported.

“Well … When something like this happens you have two choices: Tears and laughter,” Schneider wrote on Facebook. “I choose laughter.

“So … What’s your caption? Here’s mine: ‘Miss Ida stopped by to see the General at Miss Shirley’s last night.’”

Schneider tweeted that he was headed back to Louisiana, where he would assess the damage in Louisiana before returning to Tennessee to continue flood relief efforts.

“My request is that if you know somebody that’s going through something like this, then you help them,” Schneider tweeted. “Go out and help them.”
