Tulsa Republican Party is gaining strength

For the first time ever more than 50 percent of all registered voters in Tulsa County are registered Republicans.

"People are fed up with Washington.  The Democrat party of your parents or grandparents is now the Democrat party of today.  And being that we do live in a conservative state, the Republican platform and positions resonate better than the Democrat platform does,” said J.B. Alexander, Tulsa County Republican Party Chairman.

“They've moved so far to the left.  We just got done with the Tulsa State Fair, and we talked with a lot of people who switched their voter registration.  They said the Democrat party just doesn't represent my beliefs," Alexander added.

Democrats make up 38 percent of registered voters in Tulsa County, and Independents comprise 12 percent of registered voters.

Alexander credits President Obama for the surge in Republican party popularity: “I think we need to give President Obama two awards.  One: For being the greatest gun salesman in the nation for the last two years.  And two: For being the greatest Republican voter recruitment person in the nation.”
