Too many animals located inside local home

Multiple Jay residents have been arrested after a farm of animals were found in and around their home.

KRMG is told five children are in DHS custody and more than 40 cats, puppies and dogs are in boarding, after the home was recently raided.

Delaware County deputies say they also found around 300 chickens at the residence.

Chris and Claire White face 38 counts of animal cruelty.

An official with the Oklahoma Alliance for Animals says pet owners can seek help, so they don't find themselves in a poor situation like the Whites.

“Help is available for pet owners in need,” said Jamee Suarez, president of the Oklahoma Alliance for Animals. “Most communities have animal shelters or rescues that can provide assistance. Help is also available through the Oklahoma Alliance for Animals.”
