Reasor's to open grocery store in Sand Springs

There will soon be new grocery options on the west side of Tulsa.

Reasor's grocery chain has announed plans to open a new Sand Springs location.

Some area homeowners have been asking for another grocery store since the 1970's.

That wish will be granted in just a few months.

Jeff Reasor told KRMG they are working on a store in Sand Springs at 41st and Highway 97.

The company is spending millions of dollars renovating the old Walmart building.

Reasor says, “The Bixby and the Prattville, or Sand Springs, are the two most requested places for a store for us.”

Allen Mills, Reasor’s President and Chief Strategy Officer, says, “If all goes as planned, the new store is expected to be open for business by late next summer.”

The Bixby store on 111th and Memorial is already in the works.

The new store in Sand Springs will be 65,000 square feet and will include sushi and an olive bar.

With the two new stores, there will be 17 Reasor's Stores.

The first store was built in Tahlequah in 1963.

Jeff Reasor says they plan to announce more stores in 2012.

Reasor’s was founded over 48 years ago in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

It was family owned until 2007, when Reasor’s became an employee owned company.
