Project Home gets a big push from Hahn Appliance Center

We're counting down the days until Clark Howard comes to town to kick off "Project Home" here in Tulsa.

It’s part of a Habitat for Humanity house being built for Brittany Slaughter, a young Tulsa woman helping to support and raise her mother, a niece, and three nephews.

And she is doing all of it for now in a two bedroom, one bath apartment.

Local businesses have been stepping up to help out and Tuesday was no exception when Lee Sherman of Hahn Appliance Center called the KRMG Morning News with Joe Kelley.

“I think we can find a washer, a dryer, a dishwasher, a microwave and a stove,” Lee announced proudly.

Lee told KRMG that Hahn is happy to be involved and it’s not the first time they have done it.

“We’ve been fortunate in working with Paul Kent, the executive director of the Tulsa habitat,” Lee shared.

And they have given out of town as well,

“We actually donated some appliances for Joplin,” he said.

When Lee heard about Project Home he was interested, but one thing sold him completely.

"When I heard about Clark Howard working on the Tulsa home we were excited about being involved here," he added.

Hahn joins local businesses like Thermal Windows, Celebrity Attractions, Green City drywall, Anchor paint and Triple AAA  All Pro Services in making cash and in-kind donations to the cause.

Clark Howard will be here to kick off Project Home on May 19th.
