Man police say abducted Tulsa girl has a long record

The man believed to have forcibly abducted an eight-year-old girl from the playground at an east Tulsa apartment has done prison time for several crimes, including sexual battery.

Michael D. Slatton has several felony convictions in Tulsa and Rogers Counties, according to Oklahoma Department of Corrections records.

Slatton, 33, first got into trouble in 2004 when he was arrested for drug possession.

He was arrested again the next year, and convicted on both charges in January, 2006.

By that time, he was facing charges for forgery, possession of someone else's debit card, another drug possession count (meth), and concealing stolen property.

All those charges were in Tulsa County.

Meanwhile, 2005 also saw him charged in Rogers County with two counts of second-degree burglary, one count of first-degree burglary, and sexual battery on a person over the age of 16.

According to the Oklahoma Sex Offender Registry, Slatton was registered to an address in Claremore, in the 9200 block of E. Apple Lane.

KRMG is working to learn if he was actually living there, or in Creek County where he was eventually tracked down and arrested.
