Man drowns after diving into Skiatook Lake

A dive from a cliff at Skiatook Lake proves fatal for a man.

We're told that a 32-year old man died Sunday afternoon after he jumped from a cliff, even though signs were posted that prohibited diving in the area.

Julie Robinson said, "I believe in the power of prayer and we all did a circle and we prayed for him and they found him, so I felt like my prayer was answered that he was found. It was tragic."

Robinson also told Fox 23 News that it's not unusual for people to jump from the cliffs.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers tell us that the water level at Skiatook Lake is about six feet lower than normal.
