A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the Tulsa area from 6 a.m. Thursday until 6 p.m. Friday.
It's difficult to forecast what type and amount of precipitation Tulsa will receive between Thursday and Friday afternoon.
Chuck Hodges at the National Weather Service office in Tulsa tells us several forecast models are used to arrive at the best prediction of how much sleet and snow we can expect.
Hodges says, "In the Tulsa area, I'm going to say around four to five inches, which might be a pretty good first guess (for) generally all along the I-44 corridor."
He says most of the precipitation should be concluded in the Tulsa area by Friday afternoon.
