Governor orders 'non-essential' businesses closed in 19 counties

TULSA — Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt has tightened the state's restrictions on business as part of the response to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Effective at midnight Wednesday night, non-essential businesses in 19 counties have been ordered to close until April 14th, a period of three weeks.

The governor has also banned all gatherings of more than ten people statewide.

He's also instituted a “Safer at Home” initiative, which mandates that the state's more vulnerable residents to remain isolated as possible until April 30th.
