A felon mother is accused of abusing her child on multiple occasions

A Tulsa woman is taken into custody on Wednesday for child abuse after her son is seen with injuries twice in three months.

Police say 28-year-old Angelina Cicone told officers she had no idea how her child suffered similar bruises to his head and feet on both occasions.

The first occasion happened back in January.  The son had injuries to his head, face and torso.

Police say a forensic pediatrician checked the child and determined the bruises were consistent with abuse.  Still, the child was returned back to the mother under a safety plan.

The second occasion happened on April 3 and once again he suffered bruises to his face and feet.  This time, he also suffered a bruise to his Abdomen.

A forensic pediatrician checked him out once again.  Police say the victim was also transported to an area hospital where it was revealed he had a lacerated liver.

Officers then took Cicone into custody on two counts of child abuse.

Cicone is currently on a deferred sentence for manufacturing meth.

Court records show she was also charged in Missouri with felony marijuana possession in 2011.
