Dent repair expert advises you leave hail damage repair to the experts

The threat of severe weather this week could certainly bring more hail like what we saw Monday night in some parts of Green Country.

While we saw pea sized hail, the Woodward area saw softball sized hail that damaged homes and property.

An expert that works to get hail dents out of vehicles tells KRMG it usually takes hail larger than pea size to damage a vehicle.

“We are gearing up for it again this year,” says Jeff Hill of Action Dentworks in Tulsa.

He has removed dents for 14 years and worked on 6,000 vehicles in 2011.

"It is hand-eye coordination, it is how hard to push, it is how hard not to push and it gets to a point where it is frustrating to learn,” says Hill.

And because of that, he doesn’t recommend those do-it-yourself kits.

"It does look easy but it is 14 years of practice is what I have had too.  A lot of the guys that I have trained in the past, you know, it takes 6 months to a year of constant working on a car or cars before you even know what you are doing,” says Hill.
