Dallas tornadoes lead to flight delays at Tulsa International Airport

Severe weather including two reported tornadoes on the ground in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metropolitan area has led to flight delays across the nation, including at Tulsa International Airport.

At the time of this writing, a number flights inbound and outbound to and from Chicago, Denver, Houston, and DFW have been delayed.

"It is the whole network that is being impacted, and so whenever that is the case, it just kind of has a ripple effect in the airline's network and they are going to work to catch it up as soon as the storms pass but it could be a couple of hours before everything is back on time," says Alexis Higgins with Tulsa International Airport.

Passengers are urged to phone ahead or check their flights online well in advance of heading to the airport.

So far no flights to or from Tulsa have been cancelled, but the situation is fluid.

Early reports indicate as many as five tornadoes may have touched down in north Texas, including the two reported in the metro area.

So far KRMG has not confirmed any reports of deaths or serious injuries from the twisters.
