Cold front enters Tulsa area, temperatures fall

An Arctic cold front which is unusual for this time of year has blown through the Tulsa area.

News On 6 Chief Meteorologist Travis Meyer says our temperatures are falling.

We're going to hang in the upper 30's to the lower 40's for the morning.

Off and on periods of rain, some thunder and also some hail is going to be possible with a few of the thunderstorms.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect just to our northwest for freezing rain or sleet in western Osage County and central and western Pawnee County, just to the west of Lake Keystone.

Cold rain is expected through the afternoon hours and then ending in the late afternoon for our Wednesday.

Thursday, expect cold with a possible frost or freeze in the morning with temperatures near 30 and only the low 50's in the afternoon.

Another freeze is possible on Friday morning.
