Suspect arrested, victim identified in Tulsa RV park homicide

TULSA, OKLA. — Update as of 10:17 a.m. on 02/01/2023: Tulsa police have identified the suspect as 38-year-old Ryan Gordon, and the victim as 45-year-old Melissa Hunter. TPD says Gordon has recovered from his self-inflicted injuries and released from the hospital. He has been arrested and formally charged with first-degree murder and is accused of killing Hunter.

Update as of 1:22 p.m. on 01/26/2023: Tulsa police say the suspect may not survive after stabbing himself at the time of the arrest.

KRMG spoke with TPD Captain Richard Meulenberg Thursday afternoon who tells us the suspect severely wounded himself with a knife just before he was taken into custody.

Captain Meulenberg says Wagoner County deputies helped arrest their suspect on a boat ramp near Snug Harbor at Fort Gibson Lake, just hours after the woman’s body was found.

Deputies performed first-aid on the suspect after he stabbed himself, and was then life-flighted to a hospital for treatment.

Meulenberg says the suspect and woman, who was in her 40′s, were in some type of relationship.

He says the woman’s body was discovered inside the suspect’s RV after the suspect’s coworkers went looking for him because he didn’t show up to work.

Originally posted 12:23 p.m. on 01/26/2023: Tulsa police are investigating after a woman was found dead at an RV park in north Tulsa.

Officers say they were called out to the Mingo RV Park near East Admiral Place and North 97th East Avenue around 10 a.m. Thursday morning in regards to a dead-on-arrival (DOA) call.

Police say they already have a suspect in custody, and will release more information about the homicide Thursday afternoon.
