Film production in Claremore will portray Bonnie Parker, Sylvester Stallone

CLAREMORE, Okla. — Claremore got a taste of Hollywood this week. For two days, a Tulsa production company filmed two episodes of a podcast-television series in Claremore’s downtown area.

They filmed at Sailor Antiques and Collectibles, Dots Café and more. The Claremore Area Chamber of Commerce says they can’t say when the episodes will air, but they will be on the Trinity Broadcast Network. They also couldn’t share the name of the TV series. They say a big name actor was featured in these episodes, but they can’t reveal who just yet.

Filming wrapped up Tuesday night, and the series is about different people. One episode filmed in Claremore is about Bonnie Parker from the 1930s bank robbing team, Bonnie and Clyde. The other episode is about Sylvester Stallone.

The owner of Dots Café says it was fun to see her place transform. Melinda Knight says, “I didn’t even recognize it. Everything was changed. It looked like the 30s. It was cute.”

Claremore City Manager John Feary says Oklahoma is quickly becoming the next hotspot for film, and it was nice to see the city be recognized for its charm.

“They took one of our great antique stores on Main Street and changed the basic façade with some posters and things, so it looked like a liquor store, as opposed to an antique shop,” said Feary.

Oklahoma has seen multiple film productions come its way recently.

Tulsa Public Schools’ Board of Education approved an agreement allowing the production crew for FX’s Reservation Dogs to use the former Park Elementary School while they work on season two of the series.

The major motion picture “Killers of the Flower Moon” finished filming in Pawhuska last year, and the movie’s release date is expected soon.
