Tulsa toy store says shortage has impacted their inventory

TULSA, Okla. — If you haven’t started Christmas shopping yet, you might want to start your list.

Chuck Doyle owns Kiddlestix Toy Store near 41st and Harvard. He says shipments ordered in January and February of this year have yet to be delivered. They continue to make orders, but they may not arrive any time soon.

“We just don’t know. If we want 12 of something we may just get six of something. We just kind of went for it and we know we’re not going to get everything that we order,” said Doyle.

They have been out of their most popular toys for months.

“Our fear is that we weren’t going to get anything. We’ve heard about the conundrum at the ports and hopefully it makes it out of the containers, onto truck, and in our doors, but our biggest fear was not seeing much of it at all,” said Doyle.

Doyle says this week is Care Card week. A program for Family and Children’s Services to buy toys for their programs at discounted rates. Doyle says that’s kept them busy.

He says by mid-November, the number of shipments they’ll get will drop.
