Select pools to offer free swimming lessons in Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. — Two pool facilities will be offering free youth swimming lessons this summer in Tulsa, thanks to a partnership between YWCA Tulsa, the American Red Cross, and Tulsa Parks.

The “All Swim” program at Lacy Park Pool provides beginning-level swim techniques needed for children to be safe in the water.

The program is free to children who live in the following Tulsa zip codes: 74106, 74110, 74115, 74130, 74117, 74126, and 74127.

Four sessions will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the following dates: June 6-16, June 20-30, July 11-21, and July 25-August 4.

The “Los Pececitos” program at YWCA East Community Center, near 21st and Memorial, will offer bilingual swimming lessons for Spanish-speaking families and children from June 7-30 and July 12-August 4.

For more information, contact Megan Vann with the YWCA Tulsa at mvann@ywcatulsa.org, or by calling (918) 749-2519.

Parents or guardians will need to fill out a registration form before the first day of lessons. If you would like to pick up a copy of the registration form, please contact Nick Pond, Aquatics Coordinator, at npond@cityoftulsa.org or by calling (918) 210-3303.
