Police identify man who died from injuries after officer-involved shooting at north Tulsa park

Update: Tulsa Police said the suspect who was killed in Wednesday’s officer-involved shooting has been identified.

Police identified the suspect as 28-year-old Jesus Huerta-Sanchez.

Tulsa police say the suspect who was shot by police Wednesday afternoon has died.

It started at a house near Pine and Utica, police said. We’re told officers were called to that area in relation to a domestic disturbance.

Officers said the suspect, at some point, fired shots into the air. TPD said the 28-year-old suspect took off running when officers approached.

Police said a K9 unit helped find the suspect in a field near Virgin and Xanthus, about half a mile away from the original scene.

TPD said the suspect pointed his weapon at officers, leading one officer to shoot.

Police said the suspect was struck in the midsection and was taken to the hospital.

Police could not immediately give an update on his condition.
