TULSA, Okla. — UPDATE: Tulsa Police are still searching for a suspect in Friday’s deadly shooting.
Tulsa police responded to a call around 12:30 p.m. for a shooting near East 56th Street North and M.L.K. Jr Boulevard.
Tulsa police have confirmed that 34-year-old Micha Goff and 16-year-old Malike Goff were shot. Micha did not survive.
Officers are currently searching for a suspect connected to the shooting.
“Right now we don’t have much as far as a suspect, all we have is a black male, no shirt, black shorts, who fled the area, we were able to recover some evidence of gunfire in the location but we don’t have a lot of go off right now,” Tulsa Police Captain Richard Muelenberg said.
“To be shot and killed at all is obviously tragic, right now we need to know the why and we need to make sure this suspect isn’t out there looking to kill somebody else,” Muhlenberg also said.
Police say if you know any information about this shooting to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
“We’re asking the community if they see anything unusual, there are undoubtedly people who are going to know about the situation, and we’re asking those folks to come forward either call 911, they can call us anonymously through Tulsa Crime Stoppers but like everything else, this is going to require the community’s help to bring this person to justice,” Muelenberg said.
Muelenberg said their main goal now is to find the suspect.
“Our biggest goal right now is to find the suspect and put the pieces together and we’ll figure the why out afterward but we got to find this person,” Muelenberg said.
Tulsa police responded to a shooting Friday afternoon near 56th Street North & MLK Jr. Boulevard.
TPD told KRMG a man in his 30s and a 16-year-old were shot.
Police said the man died from his injuries, the child was last known to be in critical condition.
Officers are searching for the shooter.
