New information: Five teenage students from Northeastern State University die in wreck near Tahlequah

Tahlequah, Okla. — Five teenagers are drowning victims when a pickup goes off a bridge into water near Tahlequah.

State troopers say the driver of a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado pickup left the roadway twice before driving through a railing and off of the Welling bridge into a creek around 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

The victims are the driver 18-year old Donovan Caldwell from Muskogee, 18-year old Jessica Swarthout from McAlester, 19-year old Drake Wells from Thackerville, 18-year old Lily Murphy of Gentry, Arkansas and 18-year old Rhiaana Seely from Salina.

We're told the truck fell about 35 feet into the river and onto its top, submerging the truck in water.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
