OK Congressman Kevin Hern calls President’s plan to hold campaign rally in Tulsa “A testament to the people of Oklahoma”

TULSA, Okla. — We still know very little about President Trump's visit to Tulsa next Friday.

Oklahoma Congressman Kevin Hern spoke with the KRMG Morning News with Dan Potter on Thursday to hopefully shed some light on the event.

During the interview he discussed The President's plan to restart campaign rallies.

“I think it says a lot more about what Tulsans have done as far as stopping the spread of COVID-19 and what the State has been doing about re-opening and putting people back to work,” Hern said. “It’s really a testament to the people of Oklahoma.”

Congressman Hern says he's proud Tulsa was chosen by The President as the first stop.

When asked about where a campaign rally could be held in Tulsa,  Congressman Hern says there really isn't too many places he could show up.

“He said it’s ‘beautiful new facility’ so that probably narrows it down in the city. I’m guessing the Secret Service are probably wishing he hadn’t said that.”

Hern says he wasn't completely in the dark about the announcement but still wasn't ready to disclose the exact location to KRMG.

“I know Secret Service has been in contact with The City on a couple venues and have started looking at two or three to see which one is the safest.”

Trump's claims it will be at a "beautiful brand new venue" has raised suspicions it could be at the Gathering Place or at the revamped Cox Business Center.

President Trump is expected to be in Tulsa on June 19th.
