TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa’s 43rd annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade is moving forward, despite the pandemic.
The parade is asking people to wear masks because of Tulsa’s high COVID-19 numbers.
This year’s theme is “Hope and Action: The fierce urgency of now.”
The parade starts near North Detroit Avenue and John Hope Franklin Boulevard. The route goes through Greenwood and ends near ONEOK Boulevard.
The parade kicks off at 11:00, but road closures started as early as 5:30 a.m.
While the parade is still happening, some other events have been cancelled, such as the student leadership forum and Walk of Peace.
