The Food and Drug Administration will be holding a meeting next month to discuss if and when additional COVID-19 booster shots will be needed.
The FDA will hold a virtual meeting of the Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee on April 6.
Members from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institutes of Health will be part of the discussion.
The advisory committee will discuss the potential for future booster shots and the process that will be used for COVID-19 vaccines to be targeted to specific strains of the virus.
There will be no vote at the meeting or any product-specific decisions made during the meeting, the FDA said.
