Teenager arrested in connection with armed robbery, carjacking

TULSA, Okla. — A teenager was taken into custody Saturday morning in connection with an armed robbery and carjacking, Tulsa police said.

Tulsa police said the 17-year-old suspect stole a Ford Mustang and property from the victims at gunpoint near 54th and Yale before driving off in the victims’ car around 4 a.m.

Tulsa police said they were able to track the Mustang and the suspect to East Virgin Street.

The victims’ vehicle and property were returned to them.

Once police arrived, the teenager ran away but a K9 officer team was able up to him and a firearm was recovered, police said.

The suspect was taken to the hospital for treatment for a dog bite and will be booked into the Tulsa County Jail for first-degree robbery with a firearm, kidnapping, and pointing a deadly weapon, police said.
