TULSA, Okla. — All of Route 66 is headed to Tulsa’s Expo Square this weekend for the AAA Route 66 Roadfest.

The festival showcases the rich history of the Mother Road and focuses on the future of cars. There’s even set to be a prototype of a flying car and driverless shuttles at the event this weekend.

The centennial for the Mother Road isn’t for another four years, but this festival is just the start of many more celebrations.

Oklahoma Lt. Gov. Matt Pinnell spoke to FOX23 about the festival.

“It’s the most famous road in the world,” Pinnell said. “We have 400,000 drivable miles of the road so we have more miles of Route 66 than any other state.”

Road Fest kicks off at 9 a.m. Saturday. Tickets run around $20. Anyone interested in attending can get tickets here.
