OSBI investigating family problems

Creek National tribal police involved

OSBI is investigating the shooting of a man by law enforcement officers near the town of Morris in Okmulgee County.

A county deputy and two Creek Nation tribal police officers went to a home on Thursday afternoon when a woman called saying her son was enraged.

Teddy James Bearden rammed his vehicle into his mother and then crashed his car into one of the officer’s vehicles before driving toward three officers and opening fire on them.

His condition was not released.

Bearden drove about one-half mile from the scene before crashing and was then flown to a Tulsa-area hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.
