Patrick Pickerill is the most recent associate district judge for Pawnee County.
He is replacing Judge Matthew Henry who resigned.
Pickerill will begin service immediately.
The firm focuses on wrongful death cases, trusts and real estate.
Prior to taking over the judgeship, Pickerill was in private practice since 1995 with Pickerill Law Offices, in Cleveland, Oklahoma.
In 2005, Pickerill was named the attorney advocate of the year by the Oklahoma Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), a volunteer position that acts as a child advocate in the juvenile court system.
Mr. Pickerill has also filled the role of municipal judge for the City of Oilton and city attorney for Jennings.
“Patrick Pickerill has established himself as a skilled attorney who has a wealth of experience in both civil and criminal litigation,” Fallin said.
“Given his knowledge and experience, I know he will serve the residents of Pawnee County well.”
Pickerill has served the past eight years as president of the Pawnee County Bar Association.
He is a member of the Osage Nation Bar Association.
Mr. Pickerill has a bachelor’s degree from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah.
He received his law degree from the University of Tulsa.
Pickerill received his appointment by Governor Mary Fallin late last week.
