Beach used for meth making not surfing

Strange things seem to happen in Florida.

A St. Petersburg, Florida man is facing drug charges after getting picked up for cooking methamphetamine in his truck at Gandy Beach.

Charles J. Tapp, 24, was arrested earlier this month after Pinellas County deputies noticed a dark colored Chevy Silverado parked along the beach's tree line.

According to a local TV station, the investigation of the vehicle turned up other items that indicated Tapp was trying to make meth.

Tapp was in the truck, and had several needles with him.

Tapp was arrested on charges of possessing methamphetamine and unlawful possession of pseudoephedrine and hydrochloric gas – all chemicals used to make methamphetamine.

Showing his special kind of stupid, Tapp told police he was making meth during questioning, according to the Tamp Bay Times.

According to the jail’s website, Tapp has since been released on $10,000 bail.
