Elvis impersonator faces Heartbreak Hotel

Arrested over domestic dispute

Elvis is still big in England.

Elvis impersonators are revered there as well.

Derrel Weaver, 60, is lead singer in a local Elvis Presley tribute band called “DW and the Road Rockets” was recently arrested after hiding out in a wooded area of Cornwall.

Apparently, life does imitate art, as Weaver had domestic problems at home and police were called out for a domestic abuse.

Neighbor Ann Chudleigh, 67, a lunch supervisor at a local school, said: “He’s a really nice chap. He’s known as Elvis – everyone calls him that. I’ve seen him when he’s dressed up and he looks brilliant.”

Weaver lives partner Karen Pengelly, 53, and her three children.

Police say the children were not hurt.

Weaver was found on a farm near a local village and arrested for suspicion of firearm offenses.

Weaver’s disappearance did cause quite a stir in the community, as children were told to stay home from school for their safety.
