This Thursday, April 24, 2014, Nelson Peterson, the father of OU and Minnesota Viking running back Adrian Peterson will speak at Street School starting at 10 a.m.
Peterson will talk about making good choices and the value of freedom.
Nelson Peterson was also a star college athlete and was looking forward to an NBA career.
Nelson then ended up in a Texas prison for eight years, being convicted on laundering money from distributing crack cocaine.
That dream disappeared when he was shot in the leg while his brother was cleaning the gun.
Nelson now travels the country speaking to groups about how life choices he made affected the lives of others.
Street School is located at 1135 S. Yale Ave. in Tulsa.
