Pedestrian struck and killed by car at the Tulsa State Fair

Tulsa police say the pedestrian was hit in a crosswalk while leaving the fair.

TULSA, Okla. — A man was struck and killed in a crosswalk as he left the Tulsa State Fair on Sunday night, according to Tulsa police.

Police say the pedestrian was crossing 15th Street and was hit by a Ford Expedition around 7:30 p.m.

The driver reportedly remained on the scene with police and was cooperative. TPD says the driver showed no signs of intoxication.

Witnesses told police that the driver was maintaining the speed limit. Investigators believe a lack of lighting in the area may have been a factor in the fatal accident.

The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital but was later pronounced dead.

TPD says they are not releasing the names of the driver and pedestrian while the investigation is ongoing.
