OKMULGEE COUNTY, Okla. — Okmulgee County Commissioners issued a seven day burn ban for all of Okmulgee County beginning July 18.
Under the burn ban it is against the law for anyone to set fire to any forest, grass, range, crop, or other wildlands, or to build a campfire or bonfire, or to burn trash or other materials that may cause a forest, grass, range, crop or other wildlands fire in the county.

Anyone convicted of violating the burn ban is subject a fine of not more than $500, to imprisonment for not more than one year imprisonment or to both fine and imprisonment.
