Woman cut, shots fired during dispute between groups

TPD: Victim taken to hospital, bullets missed target

Two men are behind bars accused of starting a fight with a man ready to defend himself with a knife early Monday.

Tulsa police say a group had gone to the Orchard Park apartments at 1327 East 64 Street at 12:45 a.m. Monday to settle an ongoing dispute with someone who lived there.

But a man at the apartment had a knife and managed to cut a woman who was with the group.

The woman was taken to the hospital, but the homeowner won't be prosecuted.

Tulsa Police Sergeant Mark Obersorge said police "arrested two of the men who were with the woman who was cut because they pulled out some firearms and shot at the homeowner there."

It "looks like the homeowner was defending himself so we did not take him into custody...but we did take the other two gentlemen into custody that had the firearms,"  Sgt. Obersorge said.

Versean Walker, 20 years of age, and Donovan Walker, 23 years of age, were both arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
