UPDATE: South Tulsa intersection gets a makeover

New street surface, new sidewalks and new stoplights

Update: Work has been completed at 101st and Delaware.

Crews spent several months repaving Delaware down to 104th Street. They also rebuilt the sidewalks and installed new traffic signals at the intersection.

The intersection of 101st and Delaware will soon be remodeled.

Orignial Story:

Tulsa City Councilor Phil Lakin told KRMG he and fellow councilor, Jeannie Cue, have been working on a plan to have the intersection fixed up for two years.

“It’s one of the most unsafe intersections we have in all of Tulsa.” Lakin said.

Lakin was pleased to tell us that the necessary legwork is done and construction will start in early November.

Crews will resurface the street, add some sidewalks and most importantly, add a traffic light.

“We have too many accidents and way too many near misses.” Lakin added.

Lakin says the work is expected to be finished by March 2015.
