Task force catches rape suspect in Tulsa

A man was arrested yesterday afternoon in Tulsa by a U.S. Marshals' task force, in connection with raping an underage girl.

The arrest happened around 2 p.m., near 11th and Memorial.  The actual crime allegedly happened back on June 27th.

Tulsa police say Matthew Chandler is accused of transporting the unknown aged victim from Hot Springs, Arkansas in order to have sexual relations with her.

He admitted to knowing the girl's age and said the victim consented to leaving the state in order to be with him. Plus, he confessed they had been in a long distance relationship.

Once in custody, Chandler was happy to talk about the relationship.

Chandler faces multiple counts including second-degree rape and fugitive from justice.
