Pedestrian hit by off-duty officer while crossing the road

A pedestrian was hit and killed by an off-duty Osage Nation Tribal Police officer Friday night.

Tulsa police say the auto pedestrian collision happened around 9:46 p.m. on Admiral, just East of Sheridan.

The officer told TPD he originally left the scene because he didn't know he had hit anybody.  We're told the unnamed officer did return to the scene after arriving home and seeing damage to his patrol car.

He's said to be cooperating with investigators.  Also, he was given a blood test.

It's believed the unidentified victim lived in a motel close to the scene of the collision and was attempting to cross the street.  The victim may have been intoxicated.

So far, no arrests have been made and it will be up to the district attorney's office whether charges will be filed.
