Nurse who survived Ebola suing hospital where she caught it

Pham says she will file the suit today

Nina Pham contracted the disease while part of the team treating Thomas Eric Duncan, the first Ebola case in the US.

Duncan died, and shortly after Pham became sick. "I wanted to believe that [Texas Health Resources] would have my back and take care of me," she told The Dallas Morning News.

“But they just haven’t risen to the occasion.”

Pham says training, and equipment was insufficient and accuses the hospital of violating her privacy.

Pham was declared Ebola free in October but the Morning News writes she "has nightmares, body aches and insomnia as a result of contracting the disease."

She claims her situation is "a casualty of a hospital system's failure to prepare for a known and impending medical crisis."

Texas Health Resources responded in a statement saying, “Nina Pham bravely served Texas Health Dallas during a most difficult time. We continue to support and wish the best for her, and we remain optimistic that constructive dialogue can resolve this matter.”
