Manned U.S. fighter jets could become thing of the past

Navy Secretary says F-35 will be the last

Manned fighter jets might be a thing of the past.

U.S. Navy Secretary Ray Mabus told the U.S. Naval Institute News the F-35 should be... and almost certainly will be... the last manned strike aircraft the Navy will ever fly.

Not clear what the Air Force plans are.

The F-35 has been plagued by problems, and Secretary Mabus says their focus is shifting to drone aircraft.
