How to safely walk on ice

A few good ideas to help avoid busting it on the ice

You may not think you need the help, but some of the things a lot of us do actually make it harder to walk around on ice.

You know that hunched over walk we do trying not to slip? Yeah, that’s wrong.

The experts say being upright and sure footed is the first thing you want to do. Your footwear plays a big part in that.

Here’s another seemingly obvious one, but you have to know… Walk slowly.

Heavy shoes or boots with visible tread is the best bet here. No slippery or flat bottoms.

Too many people get passed a bulky snow drift and think they’re in the clear, but some ice on smooth sidewalks can be hard to see, so take it slow and keep your eyes where you’re stepping.
