FDA urged to improve flu vaccines

This year's vaccine only about 18 percent effective

There is still a lot of flu illness around the country.

Advisers to the Food and Drug Administration are urging the government to explore ways to improve how each year's flu vaccine is created.

This year's vaccine was only about 18 percent effective against a nasty Type A flu called H3N2.

The flu season peaked in January and is steadily declining.
