Witnesses told cops the man began by smashing his car into a retail center. The chaos ramped up when he stripped naked, grabbed a cricket bat and began chasing people inside a Toys-R-Us store.
"He was swinging the bat and tried to get at folk, Gavin Watt told The Courier. Watt said the man was "ranting and raving in a foreign language" when he hit one woman in the cheek.
One witness said the crazed man kicked in the door of the ladies room before chasing a mother and daughter through the aisles.
Watt told the paper all 20 were needed. "He was big and bulky and tattooed all over and very strong."
Watt said the incident ended when the naked fellow threatened a child. “There must have been 20 other folk who jumped on him and took him down,” he noted.
