CLEARWATER, Fla. — A Florida man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of beheading his cat, investigators said.

Clearwater police said Joshua Daniel Pena-Cedillo, 22, decapitated his cat, then affixed the head to a post in his backyard.

Pena-Cedillo told officers "(he wanted to) show what he was capable of to someone he was living with," the Tampa Bay Times reported.

The cat’s name was Cinnamon.

Pena-Cedillo was arrested and charged with animal cruelty. He is in jail on $5,000 bond.
