Man shot near downtown QuikTrip while trying to breakup fight between suspects and homeless woman

TPD says this happened at the QuikTrip near 15th and Denver late Sunday night.

TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Police Department (TPD) says a man was shot near the QuikTrip at West 15th Street and South Denver Avenue around 9:45 p.m. Sunday night.

Lieutenant Matt Arnold tells us the shooting was first reported by a naked homeless woman, who walked inside and told QuikTrip employees that she had been shot at. Officers responded and searched the area, but say they found no shell casings or other evidence pointing to a shooting.

Lieutenant Arnold says employees told them that they did not hear any gunfire either.

Later that night around 11:30 p.m., a man reportedly walked into a local hospital with two gunshot wounds and bullet holes in his hat and clothes. Lieutenant Arnold says the man suffered two graze wounds and is expected to be okay.

“Because of that subject’s high level of intoxication, and the fact that she was not wearing any clothing at all, led officers to not take her as a very credible witness,” Lieutenant Arnold says.

After interviewing the man, Arnold says he was trying to stop some kind of fight between the homeless woman who first reported the shooting and a group of four suspects when shots were fired in his direction. Tulsa police say the homeless woman was uninjured as far as they could tell.

TPD is searching for three men and one woman in connection with the shooting. Police say their suspects include a white woman who is 5′4″ tall and weighs about 130 pounds, a white man who is 5′6″ and has a skinny build, a black man between 6′1″ and 6′2″ with a thicker build, and a black man who is 5′8″ tall and heavy set.

TPD says the last suspect in the above list was carrying a black revolver. Police believe all the suspects are around 18-years-old, and were last scene riding Lime scooters near the QuikTrip at 15th and Denver.
