Young woman dies, infant hospitalized after crash

A 20-year-old Seminole woman is dead, and a newborn was hospitalized, after a two-vehicle crash Friday Morning.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol say Maranda Schoonover was killed after failing to yield at a stop sign on Oklahoma 59 near Wewoka.

Her Toyota was then hit by an oncoming truck.

Troopers say Schoonover was pronounced dead at the scene.  The infant was in the same vehicle, and is listed in stable condition.  A third woman was also in the Toyota, and was treated and released.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

No word on why Schoonover drove through the stop sign.
