14-year old driver arrested after high-speed police chase

TPD: Girl was driving 100 miles an hour on 71st Street near Garnett Road

A 14-year old girl is arrested after leading police on a high-speed car chase after a traffic violation.

Broken Arrow Police Captain Greg Sipes tells us the girl said that she wanted to be arrested again.

"Officers were eventually able to successfully deploy stop sticks flattening the right front tire of the suspect vehicle. The vehicle eventually came to a stop on Main Street," Sipes said.

We're told that there was no indication that the girl had consumed alcohol or other drugs.

A Tulsa police officer reported that the girl was driving 100 miles an hour on East 71st Street near South Garnett Road, then turned the chase over to BA police about 4:30 a.m. Thursday.

The girl was released to her parents.
