76-year old is carjacking, beating victim near 1700 South Yale Avenue

TPD: Car recovered, suspect sought

A 76-year old man is victimized on a Tulsa parking lot Tuesday when his car is stolen and he is beaten.

Tulsa police tell us that the victim was outside of the Target store near 1700 South Yale about 2:30 p.m. when the suspect struggled with him and took the victim's car keys.

We're told that the victim was beaten before the suspect stole the car, dragging the victim for a short distance.

It was parked at an apartment complex near 11th and South Yale where witnesses reported that they had seen the suspect.

Police located the car a few blocks away.

Police searched the area, but did not find him.

Officers were able to obtain security video from the apartment complex which shows the suspect changing clothes and adjusting his cap so that his dreadlocks were not showing.

Police tell us that the victim was seriously injured in the attack.
