Wrestling added back to the Olympics

Sport had been dropped several months ago

There were outcries from around the globe after the decision especially from nations with strong wrestling backgrounds.

In the US states like Oklahoma, Iowa, and Pennsylvania made their voices heard on the topic as well.

That cry was obviously heard and now wrestling has been voted back into the 2020 games recently awarded to Tokyo, Japan.

Wrestling easily received more votes than baseball-softball and squash to make it back onto the international stage.

Nenad LalovicI is the president of the governing organization of wrestling. He was understandably thrilled with the decision.

"Today is the most important day in the 2,000-year history of our sport," he noted.

"We feel the weight of that history. Remaining on the Olympic program is crucial to wrestling's survival."

Wrestling has a streak of being involved at every Olympic Games other than 1900.
